Il vecchio Erich è tornato....vi propongo una sua riflessione L’amore non è soltanto una relazione con una particolare persona: è un’attitudine, un orientamento di carattere che determina i rapporti di una persona col mondo, non verso un "oggetto" d’amore. Se una persona ama solo un’altra persona ed è indifferente nei confronti dei suoi simili, il suo non è amore, ma un attaccamento simbiotico, o un egoismo portato all’eccesso. Eppure la maggior parte della gente crede che l’amore sia costituito dall’oggetto, non dalla facoltà di amare. Infatti essi credono perfino che sia prova della loro intensità del loro amore il fatto di non amare nessuno tranne la persona "amata". Poichè non si vede che l’amore è un’attività, un potere dell’anima, si ritiene che basti trovare l’oggetto necessario e che, dopo ciò,"tutto vada da sè". Questa teoria può essere paragonata a quella dell’uomo che vuole dipingere ma che, anziché imparare l’arte sostiene che deve solo aspettare l’oggetto adatto, e che dipingerà meravigliosamente non appena lo avrà trovato. Se io amassi veramente una persona, io amerei il mondo, amerei la vita. Se posso dire ad un altro"Ti amo", devo essere -in grado di dire"Amo tutti in te, amo il mondo attraverso di te, amo in te anche me stesso".
