USA: SPARATORIA A CONCERTO HEAVY METAL, MORTI 3 MEMBRI BAND.
Colombus (Ohio), 9 dic. - Strage a un concerto heavy metal in Ohio. Un ragazzo e' saltato sul palcoscenico di un locale di Columbus durante l'esibizione dei 'Damageplan' e ha cominciato sparare prima sui membri della band e poi sul pubblico. Alla fine, quando un agente di polizia ha sparato all'aggressore e lo ha ucciso, sul terreno sono rimaste cinque persone, tra cui 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott, chitarrista del gruppo ed ex membro dei 'Pantera' un gruppo trash metal che nel 1994 scalo' le classifiche americane con 'Far beyond driven' ed ebbe una candidatura ai 'Grammy'.
Secondo la ricostruzione fatta dai testimoni e dalle forze dell'ordine, Nathan Gale, 25 anni, e' balzato sul palcoscenico e ha preso di mira per primo proprio Abbott. In un primo tempo gli spettatori hanno pensato a una messa in scena, parte del concerto, ma quando Gale ha aperto il fuoco contro i 200 dell'Alrosa Villa club si e' scatenato il panico. L'aggressore ha sparato sedici colpi e ucciso un altro membro della band oltre ad Abbott, prima di essere colpito a morte.
