A metà tra band alternativa e consumate rockstar, hanno saputo coniugare le istanze di una delle scene indie più creative degli Stati Uniti con la tradizione hard-rock, dando vita a un sound che combina punk e pop, psichedelia e grunge. I loro testi, angosciate testimonianze di una generazione sull’orlo di una crisi di nervi, sono entrati in sintonia con l’umore dell’epoca, riuscendo a catturare masse oceaniche di fan in tutto il mondo.
