Chris Martin: ’Finita la prima fase dei Coldplay, inizia la seconda’ Lo scorso 24 settembre Rockol riportava una dichiarazione, apparentemente strana o scherzosa, in cui Chris Martin accennava ad un cambio di direzione musicale per i suoi Coldplay. Pare che non scherzasse più di tanto, visto che il cantante è tornato sull’argomento in maniera più specifica. Intervistato dall’emittente radiofonica britannica Xfm, il capobanda ha fatto stavolta chiaramente intendere che i Coldplay sono pronti ad una svolta. "Lavoriamo in continuazione su del materiale nuovo, non rimaniamo seduti sugli allori", ha detto il marito di Gwyneth Paltrow. "Abbiamo terminato la prima fase dei Coldplay ed ora stiamo facendo l’ingresso nella fase due, che potrebbe essere la fase alla Abba o la fase da travestiti, e chi lo sa. Comunque sarà sicuramente buona". Qualche indicazione sul nuovo materiale? Chris si è limitato a riferire che le canzoni più recentemente composte sono più spoglie rispetto a quelle apparse sui primi tre album.
Ex Verve: quasi pronto il nuovo album di Richard AshcroftRichard Ashcroft, intervistato dall’emittente radiofonica britannica XFM, ha affermato d’essere a buon punto delle registrazioni del suo terzo album. "Mi sembra fortissimo e sono molto soddisfatto", ha riferito l’ex leader dei Verve riferendosi al successore di "Human conditions". "Mi pare ben bilanciato: c’è del buon rock’n’roll ruspante, momenti di bellezza ed anche dei brani ruvidi ed heavy. Voglio essere un grande compositore inglese, voglio essere ciò e null’altro. Me ne rendo conto adesso. Il mio lavoro, il mio dovere è questo: scrivere canzoni, non cazzeggiare".
Dopo lo scioglimento dei Verve, Ashcroft (11 settembre ’71) debuttò da solista nell’aprile 2000 con l’ottimo singolo "A song for the lovers".

Spezzo una lancia in favore del mio lato puramente frivolo e modaiolo nel dire, con una punta di amarezza, che ho strappato lo "strappo" dei miei jeans nuovi... rilllli fasssiiiiiioooonnnn... perche mi siedo da cialtrona... maledetta me!!! Adesso dovrò escogitare una soluzione stile art attack... magari con un pò di coooooolla vinilica!
