Bio O Belle Chase Hotel nasceu de uma vital necessidade de exibicionismo por parte dos seus fundadores, ocorrida no fim de 1995. O nome foi extraído de uma passagem trágica do filme "Down by Law" de Jim Jarmush, por sugestão do eminente ritmólogo e membro fundador Antoine Pimentel. Na constelação de influências que caracterizam este projecto, encontramos nomes como Glenn Miller, Ray Connif, Camaron de La Isla, Kurt Weill, Boris Vian, Philip K. Dick, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Irmãos Catita, Roxy Music, David Bowie, Orquestra Filarmónica da GNR, Max Roach, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, T. Monk, Charles Mingus, José Duarte, Stanley Kubrick, Casanova, Freud, James Joyce, Woody Allen, David Byrne, Arto Lindsay, Astor Piazzolla, Tom Jobim, Vinicius, Buarque, Pop Dell’Arte, Circo Chen, Mário Viegas, Mozart, Fernando Pereira, entre muitos, muitos outros.
