Non ci capisco niente.. ma è affascinante no?

L’immagine mostra l’annichilazione tra l’antimateria, un antiprotone indicato con una p sbarrata con il nucleo di neon, un gas nobile composto da 10 protoni e 10 neutroni. L’antiprotone era stato prodotto nel complesso di acceleratori del CERN di Ginevra ed estratto dall’anello di accumulazione LEAR (Low Energy Antiproton Ring) del CERN. I fisici, per convenzione, indicano l’antimateria con lo stesso simbolo della materia ma con una barretta sopra. Per esempio p simboleggia il protone, p-barrato significa antiprotone.
