domenica 20 novembre 2005 - ore 19:01 WahWahClub 19.11 Non c’era il pubblico delle grandi occasioni (mi riferisco all’ormai pasato Halloween), ma valeva la pena esserci. Una valanga di britpop, esclusa la parentesi 60’es di Robert (bisognerà accontenatere un po tutti no??). Danele,Checco,Gionata e nel finale anche un sorprendente Robert ci hanno fatto danzare con i migliori pezzi indie/brit dai charlatans ai bloc party.. oltre i sopracitati ieri siamo stati deliziati da pulp,shed7, stone roses, suede, smiths, LAs etc etc.. insomma un riassunto di storia del brit... Omaggiati del set di pins del wahwah, da intermezzi al tamburello, prima Reale e poi Gionata nel finale, dal bombay, finalmente lo si può ordinare al bar... che bello! Alla prossima... Una serata riuscita alla perfezione, la gente favolosa, ottima e ribadisco ottima selezione musicale (fosse tutti i sabati così), birre, pins, converse, adidas, old style... Mestre per un volta si è trasformata in una little-londra... Il brit-pop l’ha fatta da padrone, Robert non me ne voglia, Daniele, Checco e SirBilly ci hanno tenuto incollati alla pista da ballo.. Tra le scelte musicali: FF, Charlatans, Suede, Art Brut e many more... vi sembra poco?? era una vita che non ascoltavo i Suede in un locale!!! tra i tanti ospiti dela serata ringrazio in modo porticolare le rappresentanze di:Rovigo.. Grazie Stefano!!, Portogruaro.. , Treviso.. Thanks Daisychain!!, il nostro gruppo di Oderzo, da sempre affezionato a questo genere di serate... ho visto tanta gente nuova e bella ma soprattutto giusta.. Che dire? ieri è stato tutto perfetto!! Jarvis Cocker becomes a poet And his first one is going to be published on a wall! A poem penned by Jarvis Cocker is to be mounted on a building in his native Sheffield. The poem, ’Trashed on Cider’ is to be unveiled this week as part of the city’s Off The Shelf literary festival. It will be mounted in steel letters on a wall of The Forge, a building which forms part of the student campus. Festival organiser Maria de Souza told The Observer newspaper: "We were looking at ways to strengthen our appeal to a younger audience. Hopefully it shows that poetry and literature are for everyone." Cocker is currently working on songs for his debut solo album. Singer Damon Albarn has revealed that with no sign of Coxon rejoining his old band, Blur will record the follow-up to ’Think Tank’ without an additional guitarist. As a result, the sound will be completely different. "There is a Blur record at the moment but it’s very basic," explained Albarn of the album, which could be out next year. "The reason why it’s so basic is we decided that if we’re going to make another record it’s just got to be the three of us and I’ve got to play guitar. And because I’m such a rudimentary guitarist it has to be really stupid and basic punk rock." However Blur and Gorillaz are not Albarn’s only projects as he confirmed he is currently working on his first solo album - and like his previous side project ’Mali Music’ it will have a global element. "I’m halfway through a record that I started in Nigeria last year," said the Blur frontman. "I suppose will end up being my first solo record, although I hate the term ’solo record’." Speaking to Hong Kong radio station RTHK3 shortly after Gorillaz completed their War Child track in the city, Albarn added that although Gorillaz are about to reveal their human forms with their five night November residency in Manchester, becoming an animation was been a good career move. "We wouldn’t be as successful as we are in America if we weren’t a cartoon band," he declared.
