Il Gera. Forse non lo conoscete, ma tanto lo conosco io. E forse lo conoscerete anche voi. Spassoso compagno delle notti passate al Soundgarden di Jesolo nel 2004 e 2005, prima che abbattessero il locale per farci un supermercato. Capita, di questi tempi.
Fa parte di un’animata e variegata combriccola di opitergini (quelli che vengono da Oderzo in pratica) di cui fanno parte altre facce note... come Gionata, Alex, Vale e altri valorosi personaggi. Il Gera ha qualche anno più di me, è laureato in biologia e mi raccontava di quando era un baldo studente a Padova. Ci sono flash memorabili di quelle notti sbilenche al Soundgarden ( QUI a colori e QUI in bianco e nero), con lui che mi proteggeva in consolle dalle richieste un po’ troppo insistenti di tedeschi metallari, oppure i balli scatenati con i Pulp (non posso più nominargli i Pulp, sennò mi toglie il saluto, perché io li ho visti e lui no

) e Morrisey. E per finire valanghe di krafen all’alba. Poi ci si è persi di vista.
Ma ieri la lieta novella. Il Gera ha scritto un libro (qui sotto la copertina), uscirà il primo dicembre, sulla sua pagina di MySpace potete già leggerne degli stralci, c’è una parte in cui parla della sua casa ed è sembrata la casa che vorrei io (kais, mi spiace, sono incorreggibile

).
Ieri mi ha pure detto che in una pagina del libro i protagonisti saranno i due SoundPark... a me è venuto un gran ridere e ne sono stato onorato. Ridere perchè non mi sono mai immaginato dentro ad un libro, tutto qui. Grande Gera, la song è tutta per te!

PULP "Common People"

I said "yeah?
Well I can’t see anyone else smiling in here.
Are you sure you want to live like common people,
you want to see whatever common people see,
you want to sleep with common people,

But she didn’t understand,
she just smiled and held my hand.
Rent a flat above a shop,
cut your hair and get a job.
Smoke some fags and play some pool,
pretend you never went to school.
But still you’ll never get it right,
cos when you’re laid in bed at night,
watching roaches climb the wall,
if you call your Dad he could stop it all.
You’ll never live like common people,
you’ll never do what common people do,
you’ll never fail like common people,
you’ll never watch your life slide out of view,
and dance and drink and screw,
because there’s nothing else to do.
Sing along with the common people,
sing along and it might just get you through,
laugh along with the common people,

and the stupid things that you do.
Because you think that poor is cool.
