Sunday, December 19, 2004 - ore 18:48 Sebastian Bach live in Milan What a big experience! We got to Milan and fought for a while with the Xmas traffic... Finally we made it and reached the C-side club. A lot of people outside waiting to get in and I recognized some of them coming from my city. After we entered and put the jackets in the wardrobe (3 € each) my friends went for a drink to the bar (6 € a beer). I skipped because I was planning to buy a dvd and the t-shirt. We started to dig in the crowd trying to have a good position, I was supposed to take a look to the girls with me to prevent some trouble from violent fans but at the first song (Slave to the grind) I already started to elbow to go further... I left my friends behind as usual. When I saw Baz I was like high I couldn’t believe my eyes and my ears. He was the same fucking wild Seb of 10 years ago! I have no words to express the emotion in seeing him live. He’s a real showman, the stage fits perfectly to him, he knows how to seduce people from there and he did! Somebody showed a Pantera’s t-shirt and then threw it on the stage. He first indicated it and then folded it on the stage… I was already moved at that time since I spent very sad days when I knew of Dimebag’s death. After this sign as I said I was moved for the whole song, it was Monkey Business and I didn’t even notice that in the middle of that they played a metal version of a track from Rocky Horror Picture Show which was one of the musical Bach acted in Broadway. I realized it in the end of the song. He defined that experience like fucking Broadway shows just before playing the song Rock n Roll that he said he realized it was the only thing giving him full satisfaction. After monkey business somebody was hanging something that said “The only guitar hero: dimebag” and when Baz saw it asked a many times to get that thing to show it to the rest of the audience. Well the guy holding it was just beside of my and if I didn’t yell in his ear that Baz wanted that thing he was still there saying “look at here”… he was probably stoned. He finally showed this to the audience and it was very moving (at least for me), everybody started to shout “Dimebag! Dimebag!” and Baz was shouting too, one of the guitarists too. Baz talked to the band and then it was Pantera’s song “Walk” began. That was not only moving, it was energetic, it was fucking delirious. There was sorrow for Dimebag’s end and power from the memory of good times, Pantera, Sebastian Bach covers, this time it was Pantera’s turn, I never heard him singing Pantera’s songs. This concert sucked on many levels: - the sound was horrible, it was in a disco - guitars were too low and had totally different sounds each other - the band seemed to be improvised, they didn’t seem to be raised with bread and skid row like me ( I would have seen myself on that stage doing better than the guitarists there) - the band made many mistakes and looked not prepared to play that music - the gig lasted only one hour and 20 minutes The concert was the best ever because: - Sebastian Bach is a master of singing - Skid Row songs always kick ass - Sebastian Bach is a natural showman and his charm seduce anyone - It was cool to see people surfing on my head - It was nice that I wasn’t hurt by that moron that couldn’t just be without having one meter of space around him - I liked to see Baz jumping out of the stage to climb to the terrace were people were and staying into the crowd singing I enjoyed seeing people much younger than me enjoying my favourite music. I enjoyed seeing all those chicks wearing 80’s clothes… well it was fun and sexy. I enjoyed that I got a free beer (and believe me I really needed it after mashing and jumping down there) from a guy that lost the car’s keys… and I found them!
