Radiohead @ Paris

Ieri sera dopo molto tempo sono rimasto a casa a guardarmi un gran concerto di una delle migliori band di tutti i tempi (dico questo in modo oggettivo!): i Radiohead.
Il live presentava Kid-A.
Brividi.
Quasi ogni gruppo nella storia (da RHCP, a Smashing pumpkins e molti altri) con il passare del tempo è diventato più commerciale tranne loro. Se con
Pablo Honey (1993) e
The Bends (1995) si affermano come band al livello internazionale, nel 1997 decidono di voltare pagina, pubblicando quello che sarà l'esordio di un nuovo stile unico ed inconfondibile:
Ok Computer.
E poi verranno

Hail to the thief.
Se li ascolti la prima volta probabilmente non ti lasciano molto, forse addirittura ti annoiano. Ma poi, a poco a poco il loro suond ti entra dentro e non riesci a distinguere più quelli che sono i singoli tra le altre tracks che compongono gli album perchè ti innamori del un disco intero. Il cd che inserisci nel tuo stereo non è uno o due singoli che passano per radio, ma una traccia unica che si svela man mano che le canzoni avanzano. E' un insieme di suoni e musica dalle mille facce. E' un connubio di elettronica e note più classiche. E' il sound dei Radiohead. E quando inizi ad ascoltarlo non puoi più smettere.
Il live di ieri poi, straordinario. Un mix di suoni di piano, momenti electro-rock, e motivi lenti, intensi. La voce di Thom Yorke: quel bruttissimo splendido ometto dai capelli a spazzola è un genio!
