Giorno 2, evitiamo l'autostrada e tagliamo gli Appennini attraverso impervi passi di alta montagna con le caprette tibetane che scivolano nella neve e gli sherpa che non osano seguirci. Pranzo in zona Firenze a base di crostini misti (voto 7) e garganelli al pesto (7,5). A causa della birra un po' troppo d'importazione, però, il conto è salato.
Pomeriggio a Siena, spaparanzati in Piazza del Campo, sempre notevolmente bella.
Per questo partiamo tardi alla ricerca dell'agriturismo. Dopo aver provato in una città-monastero e in un allettante agriturismo sperdutissimo (alla mercè dei tafani) senza successo, siamo costretti a propendere per un costoso albergo. La cena è altrettanto cara, però....
Antipasto: crostini toscani misti (lardo e fagioli, fegato, pomodorini, formaggio di fossa e pancetta), voto 8,5. Molto riempienti, me ne pentirò.
Primo: zuppa di ceci e taccole (in realtà delle tagliatelle), voto 8
Secondo: FIORENTINA DI RAZZA CHIANINA DI Kg 1,6 CON PATATE AL GRATIN. Beh la fiorentina l'abbiamo presa in 2, quindi contiamo solo 8 etti. anzi 7 togliendo ossa e parti non servite. Voto 10, uno spettacolo della natura, e complimenti alla mamma della mucca. Purtroppo la fiorentina costava 4,5 euro all'etto per 16 etti...
Il Chianti è il miglior vino bevuto nell'arco del tour. La sua notevole quantità, tuttavia (3 litri bevuti in 4), suscita una riedizione della scena della tequila alle spalle vista durante la messicanata, e un bicchiere rotto alla base in una delle scene più comiche di sempre.
