Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - ore 13:21 Argomento del giorno: MESTRUAZIONI fenomeno fisiologico della donna in età feconda, che consiste nell'emissione dai genitali esterni di sangue proveniente dall'utero. Con la maturazione del follicolo ovarico l'utero si prepara alla gravidanza, mediante proliferazione della mucosa (fase estrogena); con la successiva ovulazione (precedente di 10-15 giorni la mestruazione), l'utero entra in fase secretiva; la mancata gravidanza lo riporta in condizioni normali, eliminando il contenuto delle ghiandole e lo strato superficiale della mucosa (caduca) insieme al sangue dei capillari dilatati. La durata della mestruazione è in genere di 2-6 giorni e il ciclo normale ha una durata media di 28 giorni. La comparsa delle prime mestruazioni (menarca) caratterizza la pubertà; la loro definitiva cessazione è denominata menopausa. Le alterazioni della mestruazione sono costituite dal loro arresto temporaneo (amenorrea), da disordini del ritmo (oligomenorrea e polimenorrea), da anomalie dell'entità del flusso (ipomenorrea, ipermenorrea), da accentuata sintomatologia dolorosa (dismenorrea).
