i met a man who’d lost his soul
dancing music he didn’t like
he truly believed in rock’n’roll
bound to dance dance music all of his nights
he took a long island for his depression
a rum & fruit and he lost control
couldn’t deny his desire of possession
deny that he loved that girl
he said man i don’t really want to be the latest
of a long long list my friend
but surely she doesn’t exist
is a hard thing to pretend
i told him you should talk to her,
i bet you this can’t be the end
and surely you’re not in love with her
is a hard thing to pretend
he would have damned his soul for a kiss
but no kiss came to fix him somehow
had always an answer but had none for this
the unanswered question where is she now?
and everybody’d told him girls are like midsummer bees
flying here and there all the times
i couldn’t believe it, and he couldn’t too
