Saturday, January 17, 2004 - ore 14:37 La mia recensione: Train Of Thought - Dream Theater  Di certo nn rimarrà nella storia come uno dei loro migliori album, ma è comunque un album + che buono. La buona notizia è la conferma del grandissimo Jordan Rudess alle tastiere, il migliore in assoluto dei suoi predecessori, ed uno dei migliori nel paromama mondiale! Anche in quest'album il suono della sua tastiera è pura poesia e dosato al punto giusto da nn "ingombrare": assolutamente inascoltabile il Derek Sherinian di Once in a livetime. Tornando all'album, rispetto al debole Six Regress of Inner Turbulence, qui i suoni sono molto + cattivi e ricordano quelli dei bei tempi di Awake. Di particolare rilievo la traccia 6, Stream Of Consciousness, ke nn è altro ke un brano completamente strumentale dalle grandi emozioni. E' quasi come sentire una sinfonia di un'orchestra filarmonica, con i suoi momenti di calma melodia e i momenti di assoluta intensità sonora ed esecutiva! Il + ispirato dei componenti è decisamente John Petrucci, che da letteralmente il meglio di sè negli assoli. Basti ascoltare quello in In The Name Of God, che stupisce dall'incredibile velocità di esecuzione, tanto da far rabbrividire lo "slow-hand" Eric Clapton, che se mai gli capitasse di ascoltarlo (questo ne dubito), si darebbe all'ippica  (con questo nn disdegno assolutamente la bravura del grande Clapton).Gli altri componenti si comportano facendo bene il loro mestiere. Forse ci si aspettava qualche invenzione balistica in + dal batterista Mike Portony (il mio preferito in assoluto). James La Brie, invece, nn tornerà più quello dall'incredibile estensione vocale di Images and Words, ma gli ultimi album ci hanno insegnato ad apprezzarlo anche con tonalità + contenute, che nn fanno trasfigurare la sua grande personalità e padronanza canora. John Myung: il solito genio, che nn ama stare la centro dell'attenzione. Ma è proprio così, in punta dei piedi, che si entra nella leggenda. Tirando le somme: E' un album ke da maggior rilievo alla tecnica + ke ai contenuti, ma ke nn deluderà i fans. Anche se sono convinto che un capolavoro come Scenes form a memory, abbiano ancora le capacità di concepirlo. E a noi.. cosa resta da fare: aspettare ke quel giorno arrivi presto!
