La canzone, al contrario di come potrebbe sembrare (e nonostante sia, come diceva Axl stesso, una canzone sull’"unrequited love", cioè l’amore non ricambiato) non ha un tono pessimista, anzi. Il "Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain" infatti, se si fa caso al testo con attenzione, è riferito proprio, se vogliamo, alla... "non ricambiatura".
