MATTEO APOSTOLO ED EVANGELISTA Matteo Di origine ebraica, deriva dall’unione delle parole matath, dono, e Yah, Dio, il nome Matithyah con il significato di "dono di Dio". In greco divenne Maththaios e in latino divenne Mattheus, per essere infine trasformato nell’italiano Matteo. Onomastico: Matteo: 21 Settembre  Secondo la tradizione della chiesa, Matteo è l’autore del primo vangelo. Secondo alcune tradizioni, Matteo sarebbe morto in Etiopia. Le sue reliquie sarebbero state portate in Campania, nella Diocesi di Capaccio. Ritrovate sotto i Longobardi furono portate il 6 maggio 952 a Salerno, dove sono attualmente conservate nella cripta della catted S. Matteo è protettore di: Banchieri, Contabili, Doganieri, Tasse, Salerno   Si insomma... se conoscete qualche Matteo fate gli auguri di Buon onomastico!!
