CONGIURA DELLE POLVERI
(1605). Complotto ordito in Inghilterra da parte di un gruppo di cattolici, capeggiati da Guy Fawkes, delusi dalla politica del re Giacomo I Stuart in materia religiosa. La congiura, che aveva come obiettivo di far esplodere il palazzo di Westminster, sede del parlamento, fu sventata in seguito alla delazione di uno dei partecipanti.
