Stavo cercando su internet informazioni sul quartiere in cui pernotteremo e ho trovato un sito interessante che mi ha permesso di scoprire che quivi sono cresciuti:

-i componenti di The Darkness (vai momo!), Sex Pistols e The Who... ovviamente in epoche diverse

-Liz Hurley

-Faye Dunaway

I migliori posti dove mangiare sono:

-American fast food: McDonalds e Burger King, anche se quest'ultimo è aperto solo quando è aperto il Kings Mall

-Kebab: Cromwell's, The Kebab Machine (con la sua unica salsa piccante alla menta), il kebapparo alla stazione della metro (dove ogni tanto si fermano i giocatori del Winbledon (FASHAAAAANUUUUUUUU!!!!!)) e Kebab Kid (che pare essere il migliore)

-Cinese: Lams, Mr Wongs Wonderful House, The Colonial

-Indiano: ce ne sono una dozzina ma il migliore sembra senza dubbio "Light of Nepal"

-Giapponese: Yoshi (very posh) e Sumos

-Thai: Sabai Sabai

-Vegetariano: The Gate

-Italiano: Il Pagliaccio (ma fatte contoooooooo!!!)

-Spagnolo: Los Reyes

E infine i busker e i pazzi del quartiere:

-L'uomo in maglietta a maniche corte che in Askew Road raccoglie perennemente cartacce e fa uno strano rituale con i cestini dell'immondizia... qualunque sia la situazione meteo

-La donna che cammina in giro e urla cose del tipo "... THEY GAVE ME ELECTRO CONVULSIVE THERAPY WITHOUT MY CONSENT..." e "... YOUNG BOYS SHOULD BE SODOMISED..."

-La Slow Woman, bionda ossigenata, che compra fish and chips e se ne va molto molto molto molto lentamente.

Boating on the Seine

The exact setting for this picture has not been identified, but it probably shows the River Seine at Chatou, to the west of Paris. Renoir painted a number of 'open air' boating scenes on the Seine during the 1870s.

In this example, the orange hue of the skiff against the blue of the river exploits the use of complementary colours. Since blue and orange are opposites on the colour scale, they become more intense when they are juxtaposed.

Inscribed on Saint John's scroll: ecce a[g]/nvs [dei] [Behold the lamb of God].

An elaborate sculpted altar was commissioned by the Milanese Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception for their oratory in San Francesco in 1480. A new contract was drawn up in 1483 with Leonardo and the de Predis brothers: a central panel was to be painted by Leonardo alone, and there were to be two side panels showing angels singing and playing musical instruments. Two paintings of angels ('An Angel in Green with a Vielle' and 'An Angel in Red with a Lute') by artists influenced by Leonardo, are undoubtedly those for the altarpiece.

'The Virgin of the Rocks' seems not to refer to the mystery of the Immaculate Conception, but depicts the type of subject that Leonardo might have painted in his native Florence where legends concerning the young Saint John the Baptist were popular.

Execution of the commission was protracted. Leonardo may only have put the finishing touches to it in 1508. The finished work was then sent to France, (now Paris, Louvre). Leonardo painted a replacement for San Francesco which was probably completed with some help from his studio in 1508, which is now in the National Gallery's Collection.

"The Water-Lily Pond" -Claude-Oscar Monet- 1899

NG4240. Bought,1927; returned from the Tate Gallery, 1961.

Signed and dated.

In 1883 Monet moved from the north-west of Paris to Giverny where he lived until his death. Adjacent to his property was a small pond which he acquired in 1893, where he created a water garden with an arched bridge in the Japanese style. In 1900 he exhibited a series of ten canvases of the pond, showing a single subject in differing light conditions. He worked on similar series representing poplars, haystacks and the façade of Rouen Cathedral during the same period.

The simple design of this painting with the close-up view of the bridge was repeated in several other canvases. The fresh greens of the foliage evoke an early summer's day.

Si parte!
Suona la sveglia. Apro gli occhi e metto in moto il cervello cercando di capire se è uno di quei giorni della settimana in cui bisogna alzarsi per andare a lavorare.

Lo è.

Maledisco il DJ che mette su Tiziano Ferro. Non importa... io sarò più forte.
Suona il telefono. Ecco, vedi Emanuele? La giornata inizia bene alla faccia di Radio 105! E' il mio amore.

Mi alzo e sento lo scrosciare della pioggia. Mia madre ancora dorme quindi cerco di fare il più piano possibile. Porto giu Sirio, faccio colazione, mi lavo e mi metto al computer a fare in 10 minuti quello che secondo qualcun'altro avrei dovuto fare in 4 ore.

Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac.... [ripetere per 100 volte]

Fine.

Da casa mia a dove lavoro sono 7-8 minuti di passeggiata. Decido di farmela a piedi. Non sarà uno di quei begli acquazzoni estivi sotto cui camminare è una vera goduria, ma oggi sono più forte anche di queste cupo cielo e di questa fredda pioggia.

Impermeabile.

Voglia di...
Le notti insonni portano sempre con loro delle vibrazioni negative. Le elucubrazioni mentali a cui mi sottopongo in tali occasioni mi portano sempre a smascherare i più truci complotti. Sarà che la mente è stanca: non ha voglia di sforzarsi a capire le cose e le persone e quindi si accontenta della soluzione più semplice e immediata, ovvero la sindrome di Calimero.
Poi per fortuna basta una telefonata, sento che il mondo è ancora sotto ai miei piedi. E ci si rende conto di quante meschinità il proprio cervello abbia concepito in una sola notte.
Per fortuna che anche questa è finita... e ora ho voglia di sorridere

Tanti auguri amore mio!!!!
E' passato un anno da quel biglietto di auguri un po' così... un anno un po' così... indescrivibile, unico e bellissimo... sicuramente il più intenso e vissuto.
Non ti piacciano i ringraziamenti quindi te li risparmio... anche perchè tutte le cose che vorrei dirti e che non mi escono dalle dita in questo momento le leggerai nei miei occhi tra pochi minuti.
