1990s My Bloody Valentine It might seem wilfully perverse to nominate a group that was half-English and released only two albums (just the one in the 1990s). But 1991’s Loveless is up there with the finest Irish albums ever. This year’s Meltdown showed that Tim Wheeler et al had lost none of their hard rock edge and it offers an intriguing pointer to the future for this excellent band.
